With ongoing COVID 19 restrictions in Wales affecting Anglesey circuit and Round 3 of the 116Trophy postponed, it looked like there would be no racing in June. However, after tireless work by the 116Trophy team, a deal was struck with MSVR for an additional round at the fabulous, fast Snetterton 200 circuit on June 27. Donington Park welcomed the 116Trophy for round two of the series (May 23). Many new faces joined the grid for with 32 cars competing. Qualifying was completed in overcast but dry conditions and pole position went to Anthony Seddon and Alan Corfield in the number 5 machine. A first time front row start for the number 77 machine of Ormerod and Creighton saw them line up in P2. The Silverstone National Circuit hosted the first round of the 2021 Gaz Shocks 116Trophy series on the 25th April. Perfect conditions welcomed the bumper 32-car grid of immaculately-prepared BMW machines. The 2021 spec 116Trophy machines feature a new intake system from the two-litre engine and a map to suit. Not only has the significantly reduced lap times and sharpened throttle response, it’s also brought the field closer than ever.
