Nelson King Secures Double Podium at Oulton Park in Round 4 of the MINI CHALLENGE JCW Championship

Nelson King delivered an outstanding performance this weekend at Oulton Park, securing two podium finishes in Round 4 of the MINI Challenge JCW Championship. Despite facing significant challenges, King showcased his skill and determination, making it a memorable event for himself and his team, Laser Tools Racing.

Qualifying:

“The qualifying session proved to be tough,” commented Nelson, “as I had to navigate through heavy traffic on fast laps. Despite the challenges, I persevered and secured a P5 starting position for both races, reflecting the team's hard work and my determination to push through the difficulties.”

Race 1:

Saturday's Race 1 saw Nelson making the most of his P5 start. He quickly gained an advantage and moved up to P4 in the initial stages. Engaging in an intense battle with Max Hall, King overtook him to secure 3rd place. With the leaders just out of reach, King focused on maintaining his position, ultimately crossing the finish line in P3. It was a well-earned podium that highlighted his track skills.

Race 2:

Sunday's Race 2, broadcast live on ITV4, presented another set of challenges with air temperatures soaring to 30 degrees. The extreme heat inside the car added to the difficulty, but Nelson remained unfazed. Through strategic and well-timed overtakes, he managed to secure another third-place finish. It was a gruelling race, but the double podium was fantastic, demonstrating Nelson’s resilience and competitive spirit.

After the weekend’s racing, Nelson said: "I'm happy to finally reward Laser Tools Racing with the results they deserve after a difficult start to the season. A double podium is a clear signal — we’re back, and we’re here to fight.

“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all my sponsors and to my supporters who were there throughout the weekend. Your support and encouragement made this success possible.”
