Silverstone Race Report

What an exciting weekend for Laser Tools Racing! With strong performances from both drivers Aiden Moffat and Ashley Sutton, the weekend finished with Ash maintaining his lead of the drivers’ championship. On the Saturday there were a lot of challenges for the team with the temperature being so cold – about 8 degrees at the start of the session, the biting northerly wind, the incredibly low but bright sun and the short, sharp circuit. Thruxton Race Report

Now onto the high speed Thruxton Circuit – the fastest on the BTCC calendar. There were a lot of challenges for the team at the weekend, as not only had the car never turned a wheel at this circuit, there was the added challenge that Thruxton demands a unique Goodyear tyre, something else the car has never run on. Because of the abrasive nature of the track surface this tyre features a very hard compound, much harder than the “normal” Goodyear BTCC tyre. Who would be an engineer, eh? What a weekend this has been for the team with two victories for Ash, and three top-ten finishes for Aiden. Points scored in every race by both cars. A truly remarkable effort by the boys and the team as we have a bit of a break and look forward to Thruxton in 3 weeks.
