The Silverstone National Circuit hosted the first round of the 2021 Gaz Shocks 116Trophy series on the 25th April. Perfect conditions welcomed the bumper 32-car grid of immaculately-prepared BMW machines. The 2021 spec 116Trophy machines feature a new intake system from the two-litre engine and a map to suit. We spent Friday and Saturday testing at PFI ready for this weekends race so we didn’t get to test at Whilton on the Saturday, nevertheless we decided to go and race to get another race day experience on the Redspeed kart. As we all know this has been a difficult year for everyone with the Covid pandemic and we have been very lucky for the 2020 championship to keep going although with a reduced number of rounds.
