GB4 Championship — Donington Park
The Donington Park GP circuit was the venue for the season finale of the MSV GB4 Championship held over the weekend of October 15-16. The Laser Tools Racing team of Logan Hannah and Chloe Grant were at Donington for the second time this year, Logan being rewarded with a convincing race win the last time round. After the qualifying session on Saturday morning Logan commented: “After the pace we showed in qualifying at Brands Hatch I was confident heading into the 18 minute session. Unfortunately due to a red flag and the session being cut short we were unable to...
BTCC Brands Hatch GP — October 08-09
Well, that is the end of another season. Laser Tools Racing finished 4th in the Independent Teams’ Championship, with Aiden 6th in the Independent Drivers’ Championship and Dexter in 11th in his first season. We have had laughs, we have had frustrations and we have had trophies. Mind you, we have also suffered from the new technology that has been particularly unkind to us in the way of failures. So we start building for 2023 now and we say a massive thank you for your support this year! Qualifying: The last qualifying session of the season proved to be...
BTCC Silverstone — September 24-25
The penultimate round of this year’s Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship took place at our local Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire. Running on the 1.64-mile national circuit, Silverstone is always all-action, and given its place as the ninth of ten rounds, things are always ultra-competitive as championships can be won and lost here. Cooler weather this time, which gave the tyre technicians a lot to think about this weekend. So the two free-practice sessions on Saturday were very stop-start affairs as the teams tried to get temperature in the tyres and then to get the relevant data from the set-ups....
British Sprint Championship: Aintree & Knockhill — September 3-4
A round trip of nearly 700 miles starting on Friday afternoon via Aintree (Liverpool) for a sprint event on Saturday and then on to another event at Knockhill the following day was the plan for the weekend, writes John Loudon. Nothing could go wrong apart from the weather. A few days before the events, the weather forecast looked like the recent drought was due to end over the weekend and a soaking was inevitable... The Aintree event was a round of the Sprint Leaders Championship which I was leading going into the weekend. The rain that was promised luckily didn’t...
GB4 Championship — Brands Hatch GP Report
Mixed weather condition and mixed fortunes for the Laser Tools Racing GB4 team at Brands Hatch on the weekend: Logan Hannah: Having missed the Friday test on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit (the weekend’s racing would be on the longer GP circuit), I was keen to hit the ground running!A strong showing in qualifying and a possible lap that would have put me in P4 was just the confidence boost I needed ahead of the three races. Ultimately finishing P6 in qualifying, after having my best lap time disallowed for track limitsRace 1:Starting P6, I was looking to make use...
