Jake Hill Back on song with double victory at Knockhill

Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport roared back into form at Knockhill, as Jake Hill delivered a commanding performance that saw him claim two race wins and a top-five finish during a scorching weekend for the Scottish rounds of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

After the frustration of sitting out Croft, the team arrived in Scotland determined to bounce back. Saturday brought confidence-building runs in practice before Hill navigated the split qualifying format with ease in his WSR-prepared BMW 330i M Sport. Progressing comfortably through the first two stages, he booked himself a spot in the pole position shootout and secured third on the grid for Sunday’s opener.

Race day dawned bright and dry, and for Race 1 Hill wasted no time laying down a marker. From the second row he kept himself in contention early, before producing a textbook move at the hairpin to snatch the lead from teammate Rainford. Even a late safety-car intervention couldn’t deny him, Hill controlling the restart perfectly to bag his second victory of the campaign.

That left him on pole for Race 2, though with the less-favoured harder tyre bolted on, a defensive drive was always going to be required. Hill battled hard to limit the damage, fending off a pack of front-wheel drive rivals to salvage fifth place – a gritty, points-rich effort that kept momentum rolling into the finale.

The reverse-grid draw placed Hill on the front row for Race 3, and the Kent racer wasted no time converting the opportunity. Holding P2 at the start, he pounced with another decisive move at the hairpin on lap three to seize control. From there, he was untouchable – stretching clear and crossing the line with an emphatic margin for his second win of the day and the 23rd of his BTCC career.

The Knockhill double marked Hill’s seventh win at the Fife circuit and underlined his reputation as a master around the tight-and-twisty venue. More importantly, it vaulted him to fifth in the Drivers’ Championship with 197 points as the series prepares to tackle Donington Park’s GP loop in round eight.

Jake was buzzing after the weekend: "What a weekend here at Knockhill for myself and the team! It was tough to watch on from the sidelines at Croft, but we have bounced back in some style with two victories and a healthy haul of points.  I've kept up my streak of winning here every time in a BMW, and the car was just fantastic to drive this weekend, so a massive thanks to everyone at Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport and WSR for all their hard work to make this happen. A massive thank you to all our partners for being patient while I get better from my illness, and it was nice to come back and remind everyone why we are the current champions!"
