Cody Eustice competes in the British 24hr Challenge at Teesside International Circuit.

Earlier this month, Laser Tools Racing driver, Cody Eustice took part in a 24hr endurance race around the 2.1km Teesside International Circuit together with Modernised Racing and Haase Uk ProKarts. Here, in his own words, Cody takes us through how he got on:

"Sooo last weekend was the most eventful weekend I’ve experienced, with the most amazing people ever!

I’ve never been to the track before, so Friday was my only chance to get a proper test. With mixed conditions throughout the day I didn't get to drive the track properly dry, but was left feeling confident about going into the race in wet conditions. Which of course meant that I never saw a drop of rain for my stints. Saturday came round so quick, and with our lead man Dan doing qualifying for us, we ended up 18th on the grid! This gave us such an advantage, because if he could nail the start we would be with the Elite and Pro drivers where we could use them to pull away from the rest of the Clubmans.

The race started at 12, and what a nail biter it was. With a Le Mans-style start you had to be quick on your toes, and as soon as the start was announced, Dan rushed to the kart and got out there and did his thing! Keeping up with the Elites and Pros and bringing the kart back into the pits 7th overall and 1st in our class!!

Unfortunately after a mess up at the pits I lost us time, but I soon went out there trying to learn the track in the dry. Finding my braking points wasn’t easy, especially flying into rib bend and not expecting to be chucked up into the air and get battered around. I soldiered on and ended my stint 2nd in class, not so far away from first, and couldn’t be happier as we had a quick pit stop to send out our 3rd driver.

Each driver was consistent in the team but unfortunately bad things happen and no 24hour race will go perfectly! But we managed to bring the kart back in 9th in class and 22nd overall, which considering it was our first 24hr, was such a good result! Well done to all the team members!

I'm looking forward to taking part again next year and hopefully bringing back some silverware!

A massive thank you to Laser Tools Racing for the continued support, and a massive thank you to @carry.oncamping for the luxury camper which kept me topped up on sleep, and to @foxyredphotography for the amazing photos!"
