Cody Eustice competes in the Pro Kart Endurance Championship at Walden Law
On Sunday the 7th of November, Laser Tools Racing driver Cody Eustice took part in a 6hr endurance race around the Walden Law Circuit in Sunderland together with Wil Stilwell, Jordan Cranstoun and Connor-Axl Botting as the Modernised Racing Azure team. Here, in his own words, Cody takes us through how he got on:
"It’s been a week into the off season and my final race of the British Pro-kart Endurance Championship season at Walden Law was thrilling! My first time up at the track and what a drive I had. However, with only having about 30 minutes experience on track on the Saturday it set me back and gave our opponents a big advantage. On the Sunday morning Wil went out to qualify for us and he planted the kart 15th on the grid, before handing over to me to take up that spot on the grid and start the race.
With our warm up laps completed, it was time for lights out and we were on our way. Being on the inside for turn 1 gave me a window to gain some places off the start which I took and gained multiple positions, also staying on the back of people and gaining while also following their lines and learning the track, but this stint was never going to be easy. I fought through the grid to end my stint 7th overall! And let my teammates, Wil, Jordan and Connor take control and race their race!
After some problems we ended up finishing 7th in class and 22nd overall. Not the result we were looking for, as we had been hoping for a trophy, but nonetheless, there will be many up for grabs next year!
